Merry Christmas!  Like any good Jewish girl on Christmas, my plans today include Asian food and a movie (Wolf of Wall Street, hi Leo!).  Last night, though, with little to do and a big appetite, I decided it would be the perfect time to christen my new cast iron skillet.  I have a few more things a-brewing, including soup and short ribs, but for now all you get are these eggs.

Snickerdoodles!

Standard

ImageI’ve been meaning to make these cookies since I started the blog.  They are my favorite cookie to bake, and have been since elementary school.  I have the well-worn cookbook to prove it.  I had to beg my mother to let me take it away from home because I couldn’t find it on the internet to buy for myself.  365 Great Cookies and Brownies was a staple of my childhood, and snickerdoodles was the most visited recipe.  Snickerdoodles are basically just sugar cookies with cinnamon.  There’s something about them that makes them extra special.  They’re a very easy recipe, and such a crowd pleaser.  Yum! Phew, close call!

After a few days away, I’m back from Thanksgiving and ready for something healthy.  This recipe is so easy and addictive, I needed to share it with you.  I’ve recently discovered the beauty of white beans.  They’re heart healthy, low in fat, and high in protein.  And they’re so versatile!  This dip consists of just a few ingredients, but feel free to add or tweak the recipe to your taste.  I hope you had a delightful and relaxing Thanksgiving!  Now, for a week full of salad.
